Synology was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan. The company has offices around the world including Japan, Singapore, China and the United States. Synology manufactures network attached storage (NAS) devices for personal and business use.

The company brought in $922 million in 2018 alone–a number that’s expected to grow even further as more people discover the benefits of using Synology products.


Synology was founded in 2003 by Mr. Tsun-Kong Sham, Mr. Steven Chan and Mr. Lau Kin-Hang. The company has grown to employ over 1,000 people around the world, with offices in Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan as well as North America (USA).
